The Torso of Perseus it is a reproduction Carved in  marble  from Carrara of the bronze sculpture by Cellini, created in 1545-54, and considered one of the most famous statues at  Florence .

Historical Curiosities 

Perseus is mainly remembered for the killing of the Gorgon Medusa , for having saved Andromeda, who then became his wife, from a sea monster and for having been king of Tirinto , after renouncing the throne of Argo in favor of Megapenthes and Mycenae, a city that he himself founded.

From his wife Andromeda he had many children, including Electryon (his heir and grandfather of Heracles) and Gorgophone (mother of Icarius and grandmother of Penelope, wife of Odysseus). 

Maintenance 

To maintain the Torso of Perseus always shining, it is recommended to clean it regularly with a soft and dry cloth . If necessary, use a damp cloth with lukewarm water, and dry the sculpture well after cleaning to prevent the formation of stains or streaks. Avoid using harsh chemical products that could damage the finish.
