This tile is a reproduction in Botticino marble of the fresco of the "Tomb of the Diver, discovered in 480-470 BC, and now preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Poor.

Historical Curiosities 

The tomb of the Diver is an artefact of the funerary art of Magna Graecia of significant historical-artistic value, one of the very few examples of painting Greek non-vascular figurative. The image of the diver constitutes the internal decoration of the covering slab of a tomb found nearby Poor. It represents man in the act of diving, a visual metaphor of the passage from the afterlife, and unique in Greek art for its depiction naturalistic.

The depicted diver, who throws himself into a river or sea, symbolizes the transition between life and death. This scene stands out from the most common funerary representations of warriors or moments of everyday life, and gives the work a strong symbolic and spiritual meaning.

Maintenance 

To keep your marble tile always in perfect condition, it is advisable to clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using acidic or abrasive cleaners that could damage the surface.
